About The Artist

Zoe Sarah Schwartz is an American artist based in New York City. She earned her BFA in Studio Art from the University of Michigan in 2016 and her MFA in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2022.

Over the past two years, Zoe has been deeply engaged in spearheading the founding and launch of a new Glass Department at the School of Visual Arts. The department specializes in stained glass and glass fusing techniques. She researched, planned, and built the program from the ground up—developing the curriculum and beginning to teach BFA Fine Arts students with the support of Shiny Sparkle Studios.

Zoe works with glass, metal, pearl, performance, light, sound, and reflection. Her practice cycles through polarities: negative and positive; individual and collective; hypervisible and invisible; real and ephemeral; somatic and cerebral; resilient and fragile.
